Calling all elementary educators! The Maryland Department of natural Resources is pleased to announce that their Wild at Schools lesson plans are now available online for download. These five lesson plans were developed, by Dr. Clare Walker, to teach about local Maryland wildlife and are designed to support Next Generation Science Standards.

Each detailed activity contains a downloadable lesson plan, a variety of supporting materials, like picture packs, and assessments, that assist with running the lessons. The activities include Eat Like a Bear (Grades K-2), Bee at Home (Grades K, 1 & 3), Busy Bees (Grades 2-3), Build the Best Nest (Grades 1-5) and Turtle Troubles (Grades 3 -5)

Several of the activities were built upon Project WILD or Growing Up WILD lesson plans. For contact information and to check out the lesson plans and associated content, please visit: http://dnr.maryland.gov/wildlife/Pages/Education/Wild-at-School.aspx
